A: Pinterest is a truly phenomenal website and mobile app! I have used it numerous times when searching for recipes, fashion trends, nail art, hairstyles, and more. As an education major, it is pretty obvious that I have used Pinterest for educational purposes as well. For example, I have specifically created a board dedicated to all things education! Some of my pins include organizational tricks for my classroom, ways to teach sight words, arts and crafts ideas, helpful worksheets, and so on. I will definitely utilize these pins and others when I am a full-time teacher and have my own classroom. I believe that this social bookmarking site and app will help me become a stronger educator and will allow me to eventually share what I have learned with other Pinterest users.
A: Paper.li is a Web 2.0 tool that enables users to create and publish newspapers based on topics that they are interested in.
Q; Would you consider using it? Why or why not?
A: I personally would use Paper.li in my classroom. I could utilize the website as a resource for my students when they are working on a group assignment. Instead of having them create a poster or PowerPoint/Prezi, the could create their own newspaper on a topic that they are interested in.
Q: Who will be my target audience?
A: The target audience of my future website is anyone interested in education. I would like my website to chronicle my journey from an aspiring teacher to a novice teacher to a veteran teacher so that I may inspire and share what I have learned with others who are on the either the same or a similar journey as me. This website will allow me to share my thoughts and ideas with others and see how they change over time as I spend more time in the classroom and become more experienced.
